Royel Otis Announce Sophomore Album ‘Hickey’

Royel Otis has confirmed the release of their highly anticipated second album, Hickey, arriving on the 22nd August via OURNESS / Capitol / Island Records. The follow-up to 2024’s breakthrough debut, Pratts & Pain, promises another bold step forward for the Sydney duo, showcasing their signature blend of offbeat charm, indie pop and bittersweet songwriting. The album’s first single, Moody, is already offering fans a taste of what’s to come.

The announcement lands on the back of a huge run of live dates across the globe. Over the past few months, the pair have played back-to-back sold-out shows in the US, debuted new music at secret pop-up gigs and turned heads with a standout set at Glastonbury – hailed by many as one of the festival’s surprise highlights. This summer also sees them take the stage at Reading & Leeds, Lollapalooza, Outside Lands and more.

Their upcoming meet me in the car tour will see them headline cities across North America, with major dates in New York, Austin and Philadelphia already sold out.

With hickey, Royel Otis captures the unpredictable rush of love and chaos – an emotional throughline hinted at in the album’s title. “Love bites harder than any other emotion in the world,” they explain.

As the duo continue their ascent with a mix of festival highlights, sold-out shows and growing global acclaim, hickey is shaping up to be a defining chapter in Royel Otis’ story.
