Superorganism

Superorganism treat us to new material

Superorganism have shared “crushed.zip”, the third track from their upcoming second album ‘World Wide Pop’ (due July 15th), it takes their sound in a more melancholic direction whilst still underpinned by a soaring chorus and their signature sound effects.

Guitarist and writer, Harry, says of the song:

“It’s a musical journey through the anxieties and isolation that can arise from being an artist, it’s ultimately delicious though”, whilst Orono adds: “I was thinking about Kanye and Elliott Smith a lot (which is most of the time). I wanted to do like a really depressing and personal song but with the most deliciously obnoxious pop packaging. Stuart Price’s production really elevated it to the next level”

The video is directed byAEVA – who directed the band’s previous videos for “It’s Raining” and “Teenager” – and features animations by Neirin Best, Dan W Jacobs, Wayne McCauslin and Nicholas Barnes that echo the emotions of “feeling so crushed”.

Alongside “crushed.zip”, the five-piece are pleased to announce a run of UK in-stores alongside the album release in July and will be playing at our very own Pie & Vinyl on 17th July – details of how you can gain access to the in-store can be found here.
