On a bright evening that felt like summer edging in, Cassia’s feel-good sound made itself right at home in Bristol. Inside Electric (recently rebranded from SWX), the atmosphere was warm, upbeat, and perfectly suited to their breezy, sun-soaked style.
I arrived in time to catch Arcy Drive – a four-piece from New York – and they were a standout in their own right. There was something refreshingly down-to-earth about their performance. Clearly grateful to be playing shows across the UK and Europe, they delivered their set with real heart and energy that quickly won the crowd over.
Cassia opened with Western Front and moved seamlessly through a set that drew heavily from their latest album everyone, outside. Tracks like High Tones, Friends and Miles Out brought the room to life, their signature mix of indie, soft groove and sunlit rhythm working its usual magic. It’s a sound built more on feel than flash — and that’s exactly why it works.
By the time they closed out with Reframe and Right There, the venue was swaying and smiling in sync. Cassia didn’t need any tricks or theatrics; the songs and the setting spoke for themselves.
