Album Review: Good Health Good Wealth – This Time Next Year We’ll Be Millionaires
“This time next year Rodney, we’ll be Meal-ee-on-airs” so regularly prophesied Del Boy on the much revered Only Fools and Horses. Adopting this aspirational mantra for their debut album, Good Health Good Wealth, are however, giving more just than just a soundbite - these are stories about a life, full of grind, graft, heartache, anxiety, poor choices, peppered with glory, euphoria and quick wins on a beautiful gloomy urban backdrop.
RØRY – O2 Guildhall Southampton
There’s something uniquely powerful about a hometown show, and RØRY’s return to Southampton Guildhall was one of those rare nights that felt bigger than music.
Bush + Volbeat – Utilita Arena Cardiff
There was a proper charge in the air at Cardiff’s Utilita Arena long before the headliners even thought about stepping on stage. Three bands with completely different approaches to heavy music, and a crowd that arrived ready to lose themselves in all of it. Witch Fever ignited things, Bush delivered a powerhouse masterclass, and Volbeat closed the night with the kind of big-hearted, riff-driven spectacle only they can.

CKY – The 1865
I found myself travelling to a gig comprising a Numetal opener to a headline of CKY. I also find myself surprised it's not 2003 and I’m not 18… And here was to start my review full of nostalgia and comparing old vs new. The gig was filled with a surprising wide range of ages, and a band synonymous with skating and gaming being relevant today really appealed to that nostalgia after 25 years of music. However, having left the gig I was left confused as to why I wasn’t swept up in a haze of rose-tinted sentimentality. But considering the aftermath, the reasons all come together.

Hard Life – O2 Academy Bristol
There was a real sense of anticipation at Bristol’s O2 Academy on Wednesday night, as Hard Life played the second stop of their headline tour and the first venue to sell out. The band, formerly known as Easy Life, ceased performing under that name in 2023 after a legal dispute with easyGroup and returned in June 2024 under the new identity. For fans, this felt like both a fresh start and a long-awaited return.
Album Review: The Clause – Victim Of A Casual Thing
Eight years, countless gigs and a trail of devoted fans later, The Clause have finally dropped their debut album and it was worth every second of the wait. Victim Of A Casual Thing is the sound of a band who’ve grown up, held their own and bottled the chaos, charm and confidence that’s defined their journey from Birmingham schoolmates to serious contenders on the British indie scene.
