Pete Tong Light’s Up Southampton Summer Sessions with Ibiza Classics

Southampton Summer Sessions turned into a full‑scale Balearic takeover as Pete Tong and the Ibiza Classics Orchestra delivered a euphoric, open‑air masterclass. Under warm early‑summer skies, the city’s Guildhall Square transformed into a sea of raised hands and nostalgia!

From the moment Tong and the full Orchestra hit the stage, the atmosphere snapped into focus with a celebration of dance music classics! The orchestra surged into life with sweeping strings and brass that wrapped around iconic house anthems, giving familiar tracks a cinematic weight without losing their pulse. “Insomnia,” “Right Here, Right Now,” “You Got the Love,” and a perfect rework of “Children” were among the evening’s highlights.

What made the night special was the balance: Tong’s club‑honed instincts guiding the flow, Tom Richard’s arrangements adding drama and depth, and the orchestra injecting warmth and humanity into songs that defined generations of dancefloors. The strobes, lasers and colour washes turned the city centre into a temporary superclub, while the crowd responded with the kind of unity that only Ibiza Classics can summon.

By the time the final crescendo hit, Southampton felt transported, not just to Ibiza, but to every club, festival, and sunrise memory these tracks have ever touched. It was a reminder of why Ibiza Classics has become one of the UK’s most beloved live experiences: it’s nostalgia, yes, but it’s also renewal, reinvention, and pure communal joy.

A standout night for Southampton Sessions, and one that will echo long after the last beat faded.
